Even though it's as old as my Macbook, I love it. I need to upgrade the hard drive and RAM and it will be awesome. I plan on using it as my VM box and home use. I still need to figure out how to keep my Macbook and Mac Mini in sync now.

How do you guys keep your Macs in sync?

I want my bookmarks and files to be synced by date. So if I update something on my Macbook, my Mini receives it and vice versa.

Chronosync, $40:

Or you can use a combination of Smart Folders, Xmarks plugin, MobileMe, etc. All depends on what you want to do. Stock though, it's not as simple as hitting a button and everything magically syncs - if you're using your Macbook on Wifi and want to sync a big video clip, you could be waiting hours!

Thanks,

I defaulted on Windows Live Sync since it's free and does everything I want it to do. I just select what folders I want synced and it does it automatically. This includes the Safari folder that holds bookmarks.

Ah nice! I didn't know they had a Mac version. Heck, I didn't even know Windows Live Sync existed! ;)

Yeah, I used it before but forgot about it haha. It's really good. I like what Microsoft has been doing lately.

Microsoft has been putting out some good stuff lately. It still seems like they have the ceremonial shotgun that they pass around though, so that way each project can shoot itself in the foot at least once.

Live Sync huh? I might have to check that out, for my hack and laptop, plus if it is cross platform then I can sync my photos between all my OSes on all my systems, meaning i don't have to worry about losing them again.

Yeah it works out great. You can get a whole circle of file syncing going on with your PCs and Macs :D.

Basically you install Windows Live Sync. You need a Windows Live account. I have it linked to my gmail account. Then you basically select what folder you want synced on one of your PCs. Then it asks what other PCs you want in the same pool. Then it syncs it for you. You can have multiple PCs connected. It checks for the newest file and updates all other PCs for you.
