Ladies and gentlemen:

Read it and weep!

From the hard copy of the Toronto Star, 18 April 2004.

I found it interesting that the federal government provides a single refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890.00 and each can also get an additional $580.00 in social assistance for a total of $2,470.00.

This compares very well to a single pensioner who after contributing to the growth and development of Canada for 40 to 50 years can only receive a monthly maximum of $1,012.00 in old age pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement.

Maybe our pensioners should apply as refugees!

Lets send this to all Canadians, so we can all be fed up and maybe we can get the refugees cut back to $1,012.00 and the pensioners up to $2,470.00 and enjoy some of the money we were forced to submit to the Government over the last 40 or 50 years.

Hey, I got this one a couple days ago too...

As a property assessor my job is to visit new houses in my given area, and I can tell you with certainty that 85% of new housing occupants in my section of the city are newly landed immigrants.

They get a good head start. Not saying this is good / bad or otherwise, just giving you my little tidbit.

seems like all the landed immigrants(refugees) are doing better than the people who work and live here, just trying to get by

So, how can I sign up to be a refugee? 30k a year for free sounds pretty good.

I'm canadian and I sponsored my wife to move up here. Part of her keeping landing immagrant status was neither of us using government assistance programs for 3 (i think, could be different) years. This really pisses me off. She should of claimed refugee status for political reasons (shes a democrat) or something like that! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr
