Just received a weird call on my cell phone...

My cell rings and I see the number (216) 999-9988. I answer and hear a prerecorded message playing. The message seems to have been playing even before I answered, so I assume it's on a loop.

I googled the number and come up with this:

Has anyone else received weird prerecorded messages in Spanish, or know if this is an evil plot to begin the telemarketing barrage of cell phones?

I've gotten the same call on my cell phone.

Well, I assume it's the same because it completely fits every aspect of your description, but I don't know what the message was saying because it is in Spanish, and I never stay on to try and interpret it.

I've gotten the call maybe a half-dozen times in the last year.

Who is your cell phone carrier ? I used to get those calls atleast once a week when i was using Metro PCS. Ported over my number to cingular and have never received it anymore. And I dont even understand spanish except for a couple of words.

I'm currently with Cingular. I've received random calls before, but nothing this strange.
