I have one Visa through US Bank. I always pay off my card each month so my credit is quite well. In fact, I called them a few weeks ago and asked them to lower my credit limit. Not that I don't have self control but if my card is ever stolen, it would hinder the perpetrator.
Well the Fraud prevention department called me this morning and woke me up. The first question she asked (other than May I speak to Tyler?) was, "Are you or have you recently been in Mexico?" ?Um, no ma?am. Who did you say this was again?? Seems that there was a $19.xx charge in Mexico. US Bank allowed that one to go through but they flagged my account. Then came a series of charges. US Bank denied each of those. Awesome! My credit card company is looking out for me!
Well the canceled my card and will be sending me a new one along with some fraud paperwork to fill out.
Not sure how anyone received my credit card. For most online purchases, I use Paypal.
