I doubt it. The cars have become much heavier full of useless safety equipment, and in terms of aerodynamics, worse. They are working at it though. 😉

I'm sure they have the ability to, but are more in the business to make money. People have voted with their wallets that they will give up fuel economy quite easily in exchange for gimmicky features that add weight. Safety features, on the other hand, are a nice thing to have, but it would be better if people could choose their core safety system from the factory. This would never fly with the folks at IIHS or NTSB, unfortunately.
