come to find out i need a bios update to recognize new stepping and this SOB took forever (8 hours) to build & hide cables & fit corecontact + 750watt PSU. Now i have to take it all apart and stick this e2180 in just to update the f*cking bios. (It's in a mid-tower case, so i can't take the corecontact freezer off without removing the power supply through the friggin cdrom bays)... LOL

haha shit.

I'm pretty pissed right now... lol.

That's why we always suggest building the essentials on your desk in the open to boot test before installing everything into the case. Make troubleshooting & things like this much easier.

Now, I know that doesn't help you right now, but I'll bet you'll do things differently next time...

Yeah, you're absolutely right. I used to always build open like you said. I would test all the parts, booting the PC over and over again as I added each new part during the build. I figured i could nail it this time.

Now it's all taken apart into pieces all over the room now. I really need some help with this P7N SLI motherboard, I will go and start a topic in computer help.

You insult the RMA gods when you put everything in the case before you boot.

Consider yourself lucky you just need to swap & flash!

(If you REALLY want to piss off the RMA gods, put every thing in AND put the sides of the case on, with all USB components plugged in as well)

I'm still chuckling over the newbie who built a completely new system, installed Windows 7 beta, then wondered why it wasn't stable.

New/unconfirmed system + Beta OS FTW!!
