Okay well I installed my Dragon+ again after gettin' er RMA'ed due to a slight manufacturing flaw, but the RMA is not why I'm posting.
Since I've installed the board I've been trying to update my OS via MS's Windows Update site, but it's downloading the patches extremely slowly...
I'm on cable and when I've done this a million times before it's been increadibly fast. So I'm wondering if perhaps the onboard NIC is bad. So I tried a brand new Realtec NIC which resulted in the same thing... very slow downloads from the Windows Update site, especially DirectX 8.1. I've tried downloading from other sites with both the onboard and PCI and both are up to spec. So now I'm considering that MS's servers are a bit slow tonight...

Now I've got another slight problem since I've put my Dragon back in. When I have my SB Audigy physicially installed (into the second last PCI slot) my whole computer will lock-up at radom. This is before the drivers are even installed. Sometimes during boot-up, sometimes while in Windows. But it constantly locks-up with it installed. This is with the onboard audio disabled in the BIOS btw. Any ideas on that? I'd sure like to be able to use 'er.

Here's my specs if it may help distinguish my problems:

Soyo Dragon+ (BIOS: 2BA1)
T-Bird 1.2GHz, 266MHz FSB
512MB Crucial PC2100 DDR; 2x 256MB: DIMM0 and DIMM2 occupied
Asus V8200 T5 Deluxe
SB Audigy Plat.
WD 600BB (60GB 7200rpm ATA100); partitioned to 5GB and ~55GB
Enermax 450W Whisper
Windows 2000 Pro w/ Service Pack 2

That's not everything of course but it's the things that would matter I would think.

I really love this board and would love to figure this all out.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. :)

M$ has been having server problems the last couple of days and it's been screwing up the Windows Update process.

I've also been have slow access to the MS Update Servers. Usually If I cancel and start the update again it will get a faster connection. Or try late at night.

Alright, atleast it's not my board.

Now how 'bout my little prob with my Audigy. Sure the onboard on this mobo is great but I'm sure the Audigy is better. Has anybody got a solution? :(

What IRQ is the Audigy using?? did you try moving it to another PCI slot??

I've tried the Audigy in both the 4th and 5th PCI slots... the only ones that it will theoretically work.
I'm in class right now so I'm not able to check the IRQ it's using in those slots. Which should it be using?

I have my Audigy in PCI4 and a WinModem in PCI and it's worked from the getgo. Make sure that you have the IRQ assignments set to Auto and that it knows you have a PnP OS installed.

Well I've flashed the BIOS up to 2BA2. Also installed Win2K first, then installed the Audigy and it seems to be fine. It's only been on for about 15 minutes so we'll see...
