Umm, please don't put it over your fireplace. That would be really stupid.
We don't have fires very often even in the fall and winter months we maybe go through half a cord a season if that even less if we are travelling over the holidays which we often do. Obvious solution is to take the piece down before starting a fire and then rehang it afterwards so it won't be a problem.

Yes, right now she is focusing on botanicals because she has Bachelor of Arts in Biology with an emphasis on Natural History from Sonoma State University so botanicals seem to be her main interest. Who knows though if she sticks with it and can make money doing art she might branch out into other subject matter.
