After recommendations from several guys here in the forums, I decided to purchase a new latex mattress from www.mattresses.net. I bought the Ultra-Plush King set (medium firmness). I can't wait for it to arrive, but I think it will take about 3 weeks.

A question for some of you that have this mattress -- is the top of the mattress similar to a memory foam topper or should I get one of those and put it on?

Thanks for the recommendations, guys.

no need for a latex topper.

it's truly a great great mattress.

as to question regarding why not go to any mattress shop, none of the mattress shops I visited in my area carry the latex mattress. and many of the knowledgeable salesman at these mattress shops i talked to acknowledged that the latex was the best material for a mattress.

springs can never give the comfort that latex does.

Make sure you break it in properly with your wife/gf/bf.

that's one of the biggest benefits of the latex mattress, at least for me and my wife anyway. we have 3 kids and to have a mattress that is VIRTUALLY silent is a HUGE benefit.

I bought the nicest one they had. It was $1395 + 159 shipping. Total was $1554. Takes 3 weeks for delivery.

I bet it comes on a Freight Truck and they dump it in your yard if you aren't there 😛
