Well i have been in the hunt for a lac monitor for a longtime. I couldn't find anything that just seemed like a good buy. I have been using my flat screen 17 inch crt for a while now, so i have been picky on the image quality of the LCD i get. The main reason i wanted a lcd was to free up desk space.
I went to circuit city this weekend and found this samsung 206BW for only 239. I thought that was a really really good price for this, so i picked one up. This wasn't even on sale, it was its regular price. The monitor build is great. It looks like a quality monitor from the build. Smooth and glossy black and silver finish, with blue accent lighting.
Hooking it up was easy enough for the most part. The only problem i had was getting the DVi cable into the monitor with one hand. (i recently broke my hand and its in a cast) Also i was glad to see it came with a DVI cable. This monitor has a nice cover which hides all of the cables in the back. The stand is a good stand, but doesn't have any hieght adjustment.
The picture quality is good. Comingfrom a CRT it really bothers me how the blacks aren't true, but i knew this already purchasing the monitor. The blacks are pretty good though. The typical bleeding through at the top and bottom i notice on LCDs is hardly noticable. You can see a bit of white, but nothing like my friends accer had. This monitor had ZERO dead pixels I really haven't had a chance to play anything on this other than world of warcraft. The colors are very vibrant. I did have to turn down the brightness a bit because whites were too white.
This monitor was a great buy for the price. The build is good, the picture is good, and the specs are good. It as a 2Ms response time, and a 3000:1 contrast ratio ( which i highly doubt it is that high. If your looking for a good 20 inch get this you will be happy.
