I've been wanting one for about a year and I had the chance to test drive one around christmas time.

Today the AMEX jumped out of my wallet and went to adorama.com and ordered it.

I also picked up a tiffen neutral density filter (not really sure why, but i know that a lot of people use them for scenic shots)

If this is my last post ever, it means my wife killed me for dropping $600 without asking.

Nice! I used to have the Tokina 12-24 and the 11-16 is supposed to be quite a step up from even the 12-24. Post some sample shots plz.

Also, you might want to be careful using the Tiffen ND in bright , direct sunlight, since most Tiffen filters are not multicoated and can cause flare issues.

Really want one of those. Wondering if it can take the place of my tamron 17-50 as a walk around.

My off-trail 2 is already full with the 580ex, sigma 100-300 and 150 macro.

No. It's not for everything (although I have the tendency to overuse the crap out of mine hehehehe.... That + your 17-50 + a telephoto make a nice walk around kit tho.

Congrats. It's a nice, sharp lens that I use daily - I take about 1,000 shots a day with it.

It is not as flare resistant as other wides that I've used. Also, do not get sand in it because the construction of the focus ring clutch mechanism is very very susceptible to sand.

That ND filter will help you capture motion blur.

Thinking about getting one for my 5D. ;)

It doesn't cover full frame. Ah what the hell you should know this... right?

I love my wide, one of the best investments I have made. Perhaps even THE best since it can do so much more than my others when it comes to landscape and travel photography.

I can say without a doubt in my mind that if I could own only one lens for the rest of my life, it would be the Tok 11-16.

Most people wouldn't agree b/c it's an UWA and isn't a good "walk-around lens", but it fits my shooting style perfectly.

i'm still alive!
She was pretty happy that it'll be here monday. She's into photography as well, so i guess i had a better chance of surviving this one.

Good buy. I had one until I found an awesome deal on a full frame camera and had to give up my 11-16.

It's a great value for APS-C shooters.

Until I find a good deal on a Nikon 16-35mm f/4 VR, I'll have to make due with my Sigma 15-30mm. The Sigma needs to be stopped down to f/5.6-f/11 to be any good, and even then it isn't great in the corners. But it was 1/10th the price of a 16-35mm f/4 VR.
