Also, I'm enjoying my hacked Edge on my gen 1 iPhone for $5.99/month

Sure it's as slow as dirt, but cheap is good, tacking another $25 onto my bill for 2 years makes me cautious.

I am in the same shoe as well. I got a g1 iphone unlocked hacked with tzone and I am pretty happy with it. To me, it just doesn't look that impressive to iphone, I know dream got gps and 3g and such We got free installer, when we add it all up, it doesn't seems that much better than iphone. Peoplel will argue that Android Os will be great. Now if it is to the quality of Samsung onima or Sony x1 or at least a HTC touch pro, I would be all over it. Don't get me wrong, HTC dream seems to be a good phone, but is it really that good just because it got a qwerty keyboard and Android Os?

please help a phone n00b. i have a myfaves family plan for myself, wife and daughter
do i have to pay the $35/month for each phone on my plan? or is it just $35 for all three phones (assuming we all got a G1)

p.s. we only will use Tmobile, so phones from other carriers are 'just out'

I thought the required data plan for the G1 was $25 per month per phone: $20 for EDGE/3G and $5 for SMS messaging. Neither $25 nor $35 is what I consider "cheap" but if it's $25/month that makes it slightly more reasonable.

You pre order it through t-mobile's website. Myt-mobile.com. I'm paying $25 for data + 400 text messages which is what I'm currently paying.

Can't you just use the upgrade program, or do you not want to extend your contract?
