I play at 1680x1050 with 4xAA and it looks fine to me. I also run with 5 shadows just fine... oh and Death Knight voices too... supposedly that takes more CPU .

I have everything cranked at 1920x1200 and the graphics are still not very good. I just played a Gnome Warlock to level 5 and it was much, much better than the Dark Elf area. Actually the character is just more fun overall.

It would be a very bad business decision for Blizz to beef up the graphics too much.

You don't mean that. You mean they shouldn't increase system demands too much, not the graphics. The graphics engine is horrificly poor, and yeah, I know a little something about rendering technology. They could make several generational leaps in graphics quality while not decreasing framerate at all for a very large portion of their userbase, actually, it would speed the game up considerably for a lot of them.

You are right. They usually go hand in hand though.

I just don't think the juice would be worth the squeeze. I doubt they would see tons of new subs if they revamped the graphics. I would also prefer them to dump their time and money into new content than a graphics overhaul anyways. I believe the majority of their userbase would prefer that as well, but I could be wrong.
