Just played MP FEAR for the first time

Fear auto configured for 640x480 medium detail. I set it to 800x600 and the benchmark showed:
L 16
Avg 29
H 58


with only about 25% in the lowest bracket.

It was fun but damn it was choppy.


Luckily I've got $200 at Frys to spend from Christmas.....

Now where is that 7800GS or X1700XT

I don't think we'll see an X1700. X1600, X1800; doubtful on the X1700.

Well GeCube has already announced an X1600 AGP part and with NV maybe releasing a 7800AGP part ATI would probably respond. So we'll see. If nothing comes in the next month or so I'll just find an X850 part.

Spend the money on a X850XT over at MicroCenter... They still have the $ 50 Rebate, making them cost around $ 200... The best there is for AGP currently... Time to frag, instead of getting fragged...

I've played the Demo on an X700, it was choppy due to my PSU (see sig). My 9200 plays it at 640, low settings pretty well though

Interesting - My Coolmax 400W PSU has 18A on the 12V rail. My 12V line doesn't drop below 11.6V underload but I need to verify with my multimeter.

why does your PSU have anything to do with it?

. . . i have a 480w TT with 18amps on the 12v rail . . . sufficient for an x850xt@PE and an o/c'd P4
