Just picked up Farcry and Quake 3, HL2 need some advice on Mods to get

I Just picked up Farcry (owned it once before), and Doom 3.....
I've had Half life 2 for awhile, have not really played anything but the single player
I know they have been out for awhile.....
anyway....

What are the must have MODS and maps etc?

Haven't really looked into it but aside from Quake 3 I don't think HL2 and Far Cry has any major mods/maps or anything worth mentioning. Garry's mod(I thinks the name) for HL2 is suppose to be fun to mess around with.
