and Jamos A 102HCS

Basically this setup will be for basement noise, not hooked up to a tv or anything currently. I know the receiver doesn't support Audio thru HDMI but it was such a good deal I got it anyways.

Qs: What in addition to these items should I purchase?
Better speaker cable? (will this matter much?)

premium wires are a waste unless you have extremely high end gear, even then there's a lot of speculation involved. You're money would be better spent on some acoustic treatment for the room, this will give the biggest noticeable improvement aside from perhaps better speakers. The Jamo speakers are only rated for 60W at 6 ohms your receiver is advertised to put out enough power to cook the voice coils, be sure to keep the volume knob under control.

Most receivers have circuit protection that kicks in these days somewhere around 35-60W @ 8 ohms. Plus it's pretty hard to drive a receiver to clipping with satellite speakers.
