hehe its my first widescreen and its amazing!

have to see how the finances go as i may have to sell it again! but so far its looking ok so i should be keeping it.

yeah there is bleeding but in all honesty its not every noticable unless you put a pitch black screen saver on.

even in games and movies that have dark scenes i cant notice it so its not an issue.

no dead pixels, colours are amazing and its very bright, might have to adjust the brightness. (its a shame theres no preset backlight settings like my old iiyama 17inch....you could switch to a dimmer setting pretty quick if i was working in low light at it was overly bright)

i thought this thing had component in but it doesnt, good thing i have the VGA cable for the 360.

however i have set my 360 to something like 1360x768 or something and circlar objects appear elongated (PGR3 ) even when using 1:1 ratio, and for some reason 1280x720 setting on the 360 appears very washed out.

Nice. I've never seen this panel in person but it has received a lot of positive comments.

Did all of the 2005FPWs use S-IPS panels, or was it a lottery like the later 2007 version?

nope no lottery here

S-IPS panels for teh win!

the 2005's had backlight bleeding problems on a lot of them

the 2007 fixed that, but then they introduced banding and then later the panel lottery. just trying to figure out why the wheels in PGR3 look slightly egg shaped

Congrats.

I'm running my 2007wfp with my PC and xbox360. I've liked it since day one even if it did have some banding, but to me, hardly noticable unless I went looking for it. I also have the S-IPS and I must say it is the best panel I have ever used.

ONly thing that sucks is that the xbox360 wont do 1680x1050 with the vga cable. Even 1:1 pixel mapping stinks, makes the screen too small.

Enjoy!

yeah im finding that out now.

really shows up the 360s AA or lack of lol

i find in racing games like PGR3 and TDU i have to use a 1:1 ratio else it looks horrible. but games like GoW and R6 are great when filled to screen (correct aspect setting)

I have a good 2005FPW. Zero back light bleed, no banding and IPS. Looks like sh1t next to NEC 20WMGX2 though...but then again almost any monitor does:p

i so wanted one of those, but for the price of the one they sell here its a bit of a bum deal

£350

DVI in, VGA in, 4 port USB hub

thats it

the us version with all the inputs and the speakers and the HDCP enabled DVI port is worth it, the uk one isnt.

Have you seen it? Played with it? I bet you wouldnt say that if you had..I'd seriously pay $750 all over again even if I had to charge it/make payments/panhandle.:p

Anyway, congrats the Dell is one of the nicer 20's out there. SHould hold you over well until NEC's 24" GX version comes with all bells and whistles of modern displays.
