Just picked up $140 canadian from my local chase branch

it's first time seeying canadian dollars, they do look funky compare to US dollars

How can I tell if it's new or old but they look very used, maybe its just paper quality sucks compare to US dollars

I wish it was, but with sucky exchange rate by chase its $100.01 US, Once I am in Canada I should be able to get $100US for $151 Canadian

well if they are old style they'll be similar in style to the 20's and 50's, if they're new they'll be distinctly different, i think the 10 has in flanders fields on the back of it, the 5 has some hockey thing i think. i don't have any on me to see.

That's a pretty steep exchange rate.

McDonalds gives a better exchange rate here! :Q

I will be entering Canada without looking for a bank, will have some cash in pocket, plus it was delivered to my branch via fedex overnight.

I didn't like the thought of toonies and loonies and first but after they came out they are kinda neat to use. Nothing like grabbing a handful of change and having $20+ in it.

Why didn't you just use an ATM once you cross the border. I just did that last week and the exchaneg rate was wayyyyy better. Not exactly hard to find on either.

hey did they give you coins at all or all bills? i couldn't get my canadians coins exchanged, have to do it at the airport next time, they only take bills.
