You even said it yourself that it was more challenging then. That's basically what I said, that it's slightly easier now. Practical stuff is always easier than theory.

Real world is always easier than any cert though, since you have access to documentation, peers, the internet, etc so if you run into a really oddball problem you have resources to help.

With that A+ Cert you should be able to command a $12/hour Tech Support job. Kudos! ;)

Wow, real world is much harder than any cert.

If you can take 2-3 days Google is awesome, even a moron can figure it out. The way I have to work it doesn't work that way.

Also good luck if you have no internet access on-site.

i did have to study my ass off though and I purchased the Network Simulator from Cisco and TreyRandom that used to be a member here let me beta test a lot of CCNA stuff from Boson that helped me a lot. It's pretty awesome when you can report back that the question and answers are flawed.

Yep, I'm still here. :)

Boson's CCNP TSHOOT simulator for R&S is AWESOME!

Thanks! Glad you liked it. I really enjoyed creating it! :)

Its a place to start. I hate my current job enough to start over at the bottom.

I was just teasing. A friend of mine went through a career change in his mid 30's. Went from working as a customer service guy at an airline to getting into IT, which led him into his current position as Business Development team leader with SAP products.
