Now I'm broke. :(

Last week, I went to the auto show to check out a McLaren. I was trying to decide between buying that or another vacation home.

Today, I nearly emptied my entire bank account to pay taxes. I'll probably eating through a box of corn dogs that I bought from Costco for the rest of the month. What a difference a week makes.

You should have watched Cardone Zone "how to turn taxes into income." It's basically a video on how to rip off the IRS.

https://youtu.be/r7XNbWb0CXA

1. Claim 9 exemptions.
2. You don't want refunds becauae that means you're overpaying the IRS.
3. Know the law for expenses.
4. Write off anything and EVERYTHING that you can legally.

The show is mature. It has some mature humor that might be NSFW.

I know you people aren't going to agree with Grant. It's just another way of looking at how you pay taxes.

This internet everyman's one weird trick made him a gazillionaire prison bitch. Federal prosecutors hate him!

OP should have budgeted for taxes better. Sucks, but it happens.

I pay mine every month so it does not hurt as much. It still hurts, but it's like being punched once per month, instead of 12 times in one go.

My biggest issue with taxes is how they keep going up. same with water/sewer tax which is separate from the main taxes. Over $400/mo now.

They are looking into a study to upgrade one of the arenas. Just a study... 500k. WTF. I hate seeing crap like this knowing our taxes are so ridiculously high - this is why.

Which McLaren? My business partner bought 570S. It's a beautiful car and very reasonably priced. And I share your tax pain.

Maybe he paid the estimated 90% back in April and the other 10% emptied the bank account?
Of course, there is always the possibility the gov't penalties came a' rapin'.

I filed for the extension, so it was due October 17th this year. At the same time, CA finally sent me my property taxes which is due Nov. 1st. I can't believe those bastards send a five figure bill and give taxpayers two weeks to pay it. Writing all those checks made me light-headed.

That's not how an extension works. You can file later, but your taxes were due in April. You probably owe a penalty now. :(

not true when I used the extension. I filed for an extension and it was good through Oct 15th on that year. I filed and paid my taxes a few days before that deadline with zero penalties.

You have to pay at least 90% of your actual tax when you file for the extension. If not, you will owe penalty on Oct 15th. If you didn't pay at the time you filed for extension in April and paid on Oct 15 with zero penalties, that tells me your tax liability was extremely small. And only way your tax liability is small is your income was low. Like poverty low.

One time I hit it right and my income tax was $1.00. It would have been a buck and change if I didn't round but I calculated it both ways, rounded was cheaper! I then filed two extensions and paid my dollar that October.

:D

It's "due" Nov. 1, but you have until Dec 10 to pay it without penalty. At least, thats what it says on my bill.

We have vehicle registration fees in CA tied to the value of the car, it's kinda the same thing.
