Just out of interest, who here actually plays d3 anymore?

I mean i appreciate the technological brilliance of it ( to a degree, no interaction with your environment sucks), but i just use the timedemo now, and i haven't even finished it, it just doesn't really interest me...

Unlike farcry, which i still play single player regularly (every couple of days i guess depending on uni, exams atm :p), and halflife2 (although i play CS:S much more).

And i get the same impression from most people i meet who bought it/warezed it...

I'd be interested to see what the folks who visit video have to say (be honest please :p)

A friend has almost completed it on Nightmare, he loves the challenge. Personally I haven't completed veteran yet. I reached the monorail then had to format due to a cpu upgrade that went wrong. Since then i'm back to Alpha Labs 4 as of last night but it's getting tiresome again and I doubt i'll be able to force myself into finishing it, ever.

The orginal game wasn't all that great, but I finished it. Resurrection of Evil is considerably more fun than the original game. I was playing that occasionally before I disassembled my rig. Depending on what esle is out there when I build my new one, I'll probably start over and finish it.

Youd have to REALLY like Nvidia to play this game.

Funny, I'd much rather play it on my Radeon since it gets better perfomace with vsync on, due to the fact that ATI offers triple buffering in Opengl. ;)

the graphics are nice, but the gameplay is horribly redundant, and not being able to have the flashlight while holding a gun is super gay, i pull the gun out and then fire shots into the dark then have to pull the flashlight out to see if i hit anything. i couldnt finish it and glad i got a warez copy, my brother bought and regrets it.

I got it few weeks ago and have just reached alpha labs 4. I've found it hard to continue - apparently this is a common area to begin to get bored in?

I will admit - I jumped a few times...

I too never finished it...but i don't remember the last time i did finish a game.

I have a short attention span for single player games...multiplayer is more my style.

Played it for a week before it became horribly redundant to me. The game impressed me, but couldn't keep me hooked, so I never did finish. A future format destroyed any chances of me finishing the game, since I lost my save point. Ah well.

This makes no sense.

As far as the question goes, I played it all but the last level last year, and have played some of the expansion and online this year. Loved playing the original, made me jump more than once.

I gave my copy of Doom3 away in the Freebies thread, if that answers your question :)

All that tells me is that you didn't enjoy the game and you don't value the dollar that much.

It's a slideshow on my amd xp system with a geforce4 video card. I'll probably play though it when I can find a cheap geforce 6600gt card.

HL2==Doom3 in the sense that I played through each once and never tried again (although I did go back with a trainer for a day to just BFG everything in D3). Both games forgot how to have a good enemy progression (enemy->harder enemy->repeat as needed) since HL2 was just 4,000,000 uninspiring soldiers and D3 was "hey, there's another imp behind you!" Both were monumental disappointments as overall games (beautiful graphics, subpar games) but HL2 gets my nod as worse than D3 for having the absolute worst end boss in the history of gaming.

D3's Cyberdemon was the easiest End Boss . . . up-till-then, i never beat an End Boss in a Single try . . . the SC made it ridiculously easy [kill kill kill kill kill kill use us] :p

HL2 just didn't have an ending ;)
just a 'to-be-continued' :Q

I selected "not since I finished it", but I did go back to it a few times just to play the first-second level. Then I got a new game. Now it is sold to some lucky guy for a pretty good price too.

But, unlike most of you, I never play a game more than once, unless there is no other game to play. But it is unlikely. Before I had any fun multiplayer games, I used to play MOH:AA. I think I beat it like 4 times. But never again. I beat the game once and it's over. I have BF2 to keep me busy until another single player comes out.

i played it a little. it was graphically nice, but really not a very good game. it was very repetitive and unexciting.
