My guess is it wouldnt be possible at that resolution. Simply not enough GPU horsepower available. Just imagine if/when we can/do play games on 3840x2400, it will be INSANE!

FYI

22.2" @ 3840x2400

is a pixel size of 0.1245 mm!!

By comparison
A 17" Laptop @ 1920 x 1200 has a Pixel size of 0.191 mm
A 15" Laptop at 1920 X 1200 has a pixel size of 0.168 mm

I have a Dell laptop 17" @ 1920 x 1200 and a rarely run it at full resolution - I can't imagine what this must look like!

I'm sorry I don't have anything to really contribute to the discussion but I just want to say...All that is just purely INSANE!!

A day is coming when we see that resolution (or similar) on our displays.

I just hope it's a lot sooner than i think it will be.

I have this monitor and use it at work and my dad has two (one for work one for home). My home system (8800 GTX) can run CS:S at this resolution without any problems get 80+ FPS on the stress test. WOW seemed to run ok at 3840x2400 as well. My 6600 GT at work can run q3 @ 3840x2400 but it doesn't run that good (40-50 FPS).

The biggest problem with this monitor; however, is the fact that even with dual DVI you can only do 33.7 Hz (that is with modified modelines/timings). By default it will only do 24 Hz at this resolution. with 2 DVI's and needs 4 DVIs for the full 41 Hz but you can't really buy a 4xDVI high-end video card.

Lol, so at optimum the video card can only have an effective refresh speed of 30-40ms. Not including monitor input lag or response times. GG!

That monitor is very cool (it's the same as the IBM T221), but its response time is something like 60ms, with a maximum refresh rate of 48hz if you connect four DVI cables to it. Forget about playing games on that. :p
