Just ordered the Dell 2407WFP. How do you get sound through computer speakers when you hookup xbox 360?

Ideally you have a decent set of speakers that have inputs on them that match up with one of the outputs on the X360. For example, does the X360 have a S/PDIF or Toslink output? I see there's a dongle that offers those that either comes with the Elite model or works with the elite model (I can't tell which is implied in the Wikipedia article on the X360).

If you have Logitech Z-680s or Z-5500s, they have inputs on the control stand for digital coax and digital optical so you just pass it directly to your speakers.

It'd be an absolute waste, but if you had to, you could get the soundbar attachment to the monitor.

If your speakers are good like the Logitech Z-5500's, they'll have an optical audio input (also called Toslink), which you just plug an optical cable from the Xbox360 into.

What kind of cables are you using from the Xbox360? VGA looks a bit better than component (but component at least isn't washed out like before since they patched it in firmware). If you've got an Elite you can use a DVI to VGA adaptor on the 2407 for awesome picture quality.

If you don't have an optical audio input, you will need to get an adaptor and convert the stereo RCA cables (yellow and red audio cables) into the standard audio jack connection.
