Woohoo! Getting the P4 3.06 GHz Machine. 384 MB DDR 333 mhz, Radeon 9000 64 MB, 15" SXGA+, 40 GB HD, internal 802.11b/G, CD-RW/DVD. Getting the refurbished one. Only $1534 with 2 day shipping! I was going to get a Sager, but I couldn't pass up this deal. Anyone else have this laptop? Hopefully this will last a good long time, as I take VERY good care of my things. Just had to share the joy! 🙂

A new 5150 can be had for $1616.00 as follows:

3.06, 512mb Ram, 40 GB Hd, 64mb Fx, CDRW-DVD, 15" UXGA... You may want to buy it new with the deals going on right now. That price is out the door (no rebates) Through Dell Small business. No coupons needed.
 
I'm still probably goign to get a Sager and the 5680 probably will be able to crush a 5150, but the deal certainly might be worth it to some. It'll be interesting to see how things work out, I know one of my roomates forked over $2500 into a Dell 5150, I can't wait to see how a $2210 Sager 5680 directly compares 😉 (btw, that's a 2.8C P4 @ 800MHz fsb with a 865 mobo and 1GB of dual channel DDR400, 128MB mobile Radeon 9600, 60 GB 5400RPM HDD, CDRW/DVD, 15" UXGA, extra battery for bay #2) Not quite sure how my roomie rigged his 5150 but I bet my Sager will win 😀
 
Funny you should mention the 5680!! I was all set to buy one of those... but I need my laptop by next week. The 5680's have just started shipping... and according to Tom at PCtorque, mine would not ship for 2-4 weeks after placing my order. :disgust: So yes, the 5680 will stomp the 5150... and is one heck of a good machine! If I could have afforded to wait, I would have ordered that. But then again... I have a Radeon 9700 Pro in my main machine, so this will be more of a work machine. I also suspect that the battery life will be a bit better on the 5150... we shall see! Congrats on your sweet Sager! 🙂
 
I wish I could have survived without it for a while longer! I've been laid off, and my current position ends the 15th. 🙁 Sooo... I need the laptop to do some work with my sister's comany to make ends meet while I search for another job. Such is life. A bit disappointed, but I'm sure the 5150 will be plent fast for me! 🙂
