Thanks for heads-up. I'm sure someone will find this useful. That's way cheaper than most stores.

The coupon code is:

zeroday-371688

But it doesn't seem to work anymore. Still a decent price ($249 And in Canadian) for a pre overclocked board.

You could always save the $9 and get a regularly clocked version though. I may order one in a few minutes.

It's called competition. Prices will come down once the geeks stop buying them up.

From this and your previous posts, you really do seem to have a vehement hatred towards the relationship of supply and demand, don't you?

I have a little beef with Extreme-PC. I was on the phone with them to verify if the 3870 was in fact in stock and clicked to finalize the transaction as soon as the person on the other end told me they had more than enough stock. This was on the 19th and my order has shown "Processing" ever since. I contacted them today only for them to tell me that they were still trying to catch up with the orders made on the 17th asking me to give them more time although they wouldn't say how much. My order shows a shipping date of the 21st but obviously hasn't been looked at yet. They also stated that system purchases were a priority and single item purchases are not. Why couldn't they just send out some type of notice to their waiting customers or indicate this policy clearly on their site?

My beef is even though I know about the crazy demand for these cards a little truthfulness with potential customers can go a long way in building a relationship with them and consequently fostering return business. Indicate to customers clearly that there will be a delay & explain why. Do not give shipping dates that you can't possibly reach or at lest inform your waiting customers to keep them from getting upset.

Any business can go a long way in fostering & maintaining a great customer/retailer relationship by working hard at communication in particular with businesses with a strong web based sales presence. So far I am not impressed.

 I've been looking around for a new video card for the holidays, and I think this is the one. Was it the fastest 3870 you found on the market?

newegg has had them in and out of stock for a while. just set youself up to get auto-notified when they're back in stock and cancel the other order.

@canai: don't wast your money on an oc version 3870. they're all still capped at 862 without the updated bios flash anyway. mine got to 862 with no sweat at all. 863, however = bad news. I haven't heard of anybody who couldn't get well over 835 on their card.

Building relationships doesn't pay as well as raping the customers...

Customers show time and time again that they will go for the cheaper deal. And businessess also learned that a new sucker is born every second (you are it ;p).

There is a proverb "the customer is always right" (or, "the customer is god" if you are japanese). Because the customer provides them with their source of income.
The americans have taken the approach of "the customer is cattle". Because the customer provides them with their source of income...

The approach of maximum exploitation of customers seem to be the one that pays off the big bucks in the end...

PS. It is against my beliefs to buy anything with the word "extreme" in its name.
ESPECIALLY if it is spelled with a capital X or without an E.
