Just had to do it. The $199 made me.

Well... I am used to the Bx chipset/mb... and am not familiar with this cpu/mb combo.

What should I expect in overclocking it? Anyone had any good luck with this combo?
I also have an MSI 6163 BX mb (not master). Would I get better results using it? My guess is that the MSI would have problems (PCI/AGP Mhz running to high).

Anyone have any luck with this combo?

who makes the D815EEAL? Chances are you aren't going to get a whole lot out it though because it is already on a 133mhz bus. But for $199 its a pretty nice deal.

This is Intel's motherboard.

I normally would never buy on a whim like this... but the price was pretty hard to pass up.

Hoping to find someone else that has this combo.. and find their results.

Considering it's an Intel board, don't expect to overclock it at all. The FSB choices will be 66,100 and 133. The multiplier is locked by the processor so you will have a nice stable 800MHZ system. At $199 it's a good deal but no overclocker.

Where did you get this deal? Did the $199 include both the 800EB and the motherboard? Tell us where you got this, please.

It's a special deal for people who work for PC retailers/resellers/manufacturers. I got mine a few weeks ago. :)

you should really do your research before you plan to buy a cpu to overclock man. a 800eb is pretty much an overclocked 600. which you probably could have gotten for 75 bux less.

my 800eb would not run the 150mhz bus on a tyan; not even post. but it is already at 133mhz.
