ordered a opteron + dfi ultra d combo (OEM) and want to order the heatsink with it. Check out what I have and tell me if I need something else to make it work... si-120 with a fan

going to get some artic silver 5 here

The combo has to come with a cheap heat sink so will I need some of this to remove the TIM on the cpu? cleaner

On the check out it asks if I want a LGA adapter...have no clue on that one....

What is going to control the speed of this fan? Do I need to order something?

People this is my first experience with an aftermarket hs and need some input from you guys who have been there done that...

oh yea, will I need some type of connector to power it up with the dfi board? Maybe a converter cable?

LGA adapter is for the LGA 775 sockets, yours is socket 939, correct? So you don't need that.

Fan will plug directly into the mobo.

Otherwise you can get a FanMate 2 from Zalman, kind of a pain to find a good place to mount but it works, or a front panel fan bus. Can find them here: http://www.jab-tech.com/Fan-Speed-Control-c-42.html
