LOL, next time your car needs a brake job, try a software patch

idiotekniQues, I'm a Google shareholder and have been keeping pretty close tabs on the support forums, there's a pretty significant problem here, and I really don't think there's a software patch to fix the way the antenna is oriented in the phone. I've used a hell of a lot of radios over the years, it's pretty easy to see what the problem is.

If Google recalls this phone, can I say I told you so?

i never said there isn't a problem. in fact i am a nexus one owner very aware of the problem as i can replicate it myself and am eager for google to fix this.

i also never said it is not a hardware issue. in fact i assumed it was immediately but then i read some more on that kind of issue and found out there is more to the story. you should read a little bit about signal issues and firmware. i know it may be tough to do, but try it.

WTF is wrong with you? This isn't a flame fest forum, post some links, and less insults please.

Are you sure they weren't playing you? My rep said they had already been trained on it. He also said he is "very sure" that Verizon will be selling the phones in-store.

I don't know why they would have played me. I guess it's possible though.

Anglais (French, meaning English) is a dance rhythm that spread over Europe during the last part of the Middle Ages, and the renaissance. It is preserved in the art music in the suite, and in folk music in different parts of Europe sometimes under local names such as engelska (Swedish, both in Sweden and Finland).

i'm pretty convinced it is a software issue. it seems there is a "cutoff" for 3g, below which the phone will choose to switch to edge for a better signal.

i used anycut to make a shortcut to "phone info" and set it to "wcdma only". it stays on 3g now, but deep inside a building where there is no signal, it will drop all signal as opposed to staying on edge.

with the phone set to "wcdma preferred" the phone will sometimes drop down to edge in elevators etc.
it seems that if they could adjust the threshold, it would stay on 3g in some situations where it otherwise might drop to edge

even on edge though, it is way, way faster than my g1...that thing is so cpu limited its not even funny

I've been playing with my Nexus for a couple days now, I can't put it down. It's too awesome. Everything runs so fast.

It's my first smartphone and I haven't done much research on stuff like that yet. I'm gonna use the default OS for a little while until I've learned more about it and done enough reading. It's definitely something I'll be looking into in the near future though.

You guys should try out the keyboard HTC includes with their Sense UI. It's much better than the stock KB.
You can find the files over at xda here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624416 (get high res version 3).

Unzip to your sd card, or use the appsinstaller app in the market to install. You'll need to install both clicker.apk and HTC_IME.apk.

You do NOT need to be rooted.

Just ordered mine yesterday and will be sending my iphone packing. Really looking forward to playing with Android. I bought mine unsubsidized due to the fact that the total cost of moving from AT&T/iphone to T-Mobile/N1 will only be about $200 at the outset, and the cost savings of over $20 per month off my rate plan will mean the difference is washed away after 10 months and I start saving money over AT&T after that.

Been loving mine so far. People have complained about Tmobile but I get 3G everywhere I've been with the thing(I don't get the edge-3g toggle problem that people have reported either), never had a dropped call either.

One question though. Does anyone know of a mount that works with the phone so that I can see the screen while driving for using the GPS? I have a stand alone GPS but the one in the Nexus One is orders of magnitude better in every way so I really want to start using it.

Does anyone know where to actually purchase 32 GB MicroSD cards? This phone says it's capable to go up to it, but I haven't seen any on sale anywhere. Are they not on the market yet, or am I just the blindest man in the world?

They don't exist yet. They should be coming out really soon though, less than a month away.
