Just Ordered a New System for My Car

Only thing I ordered from Crutchfield was the 12's

The only thing I am recycling is my Alpine 6x9's in the rear and my Fosgate Punch amp which I will use to drive the Kappas. I ordered this stuff from various places on online and picked up the amp on clearance at Ultimate Electronics.
They only thing I am iffy about is the head unit but I think it might surprise me for what I paid.

Eww, Blankpunkt? You could have gotten the lower end JVC which plays MP3s for that price. Anyway, nice system other than that overall.

Agreed .. could have done better with Clarion/Pioneer.

Yep. The References aren't rated that high - they're bottom of the line (Ref, Kappa, Perfects)

Haha, you should see what I have pushing the 2 Punch 12's with the gain turned all the way down. I don't need alot of Bass and the amp was to cheap to pass up. I did this on a budget that is why I didn't get the Alpine or Kenwood head unit that I wanted...

The only thing I ordered from Crutchfield was the two 12's 60 bucks a piece, yeah I really got ripped.

I only have a kenwood 600 watt amp pushing my 2 rockford fosgate punch subs...

JVC makes some nice head units... I've got the JVC KD SX980 (Should have got the new model 990 something..)

It is a Pioneer CD Super Tuner, older model. I was waiting for the damn thing to quit but it just would not die!

LOL... then you should've just replaced it with another Pioneer unit.
Them darn lil things put out great sound and are damn reliable.

You can get one of the "lower" end Pioneer HU's also in the low $200's range.
Here. Although I tend to stay away from Crutchfield because their prices suck, great tech support or not.

I wanted to try something different. The Blankpunkt has a ton of features ,4volt pre-outs etc, and good reviews around the web. I think it will do fine.

It does look like a pretty cool head unit... I still like my JVC, but who's to say this one wont kick ass right?
