I have one, and a Razr Copperhead, and honestly, I think the Copperhead is the better mouse, for me anyways.

They are both outstanding products though.

Great mouse, the weight cardridge is somewhat of a gimmick
because you get a weight you like and then never use it again.
The ability to change dpi quickly is very nice for gaming.

Yeah I was looking at the Razr's but they seem kinda normal-ish ergonomically wise, and I want something that fits my hand a bit better. I have big hands.

I love the G5, although mine is currently MIA. I do miss having the two thumb buttons though, on my older Logitech MX510 they went forward and backward in Image Viewer and IE/Netscape, with only the one it's not as cool.

I have an MX1000. Personally I find the whole weight and DPI thing ridiculous, but hey, that's just me. I get used the weight of a mouse or the force of a keyboard in 10 minutes.

Yeah she was saying that they want to get a law passed that will mandate 15% of WA state's energy coming from "natural sources such as solar and wind". I decided it wasnt worth it to debate with her, and told her I had no money.

I cant wait to get the G5, I have a microsoft optical mouse atm, and its getting twitchy.

You got ripped off man; let me trade you my mx700. :)
Anyway, it's a great mouse; personally I can only truly love wireless mice anymore. It not having two thumb buttons is a huge drawback for me though, then again, there's not much else I can get, I'm officially addicted to the ergonomic Logitech design.

I setup my G5 where the clicking the mouse wheel to the right I get foward, and clicking the mouse wheel left is back in browser. So I didn't loose anything over the 518.

Yep, that was the deciding factor for me. The G5 has a tilting scrolling wheel, compensating for the loss of a side button from the MX518. MX518 doesnt have side-scroll.
