Just ordered 2600 Moblie

Well I was hitting the wall with the 2400 @ 2690 Mhz which required massive 2.0Vcore to hit. Later it had trouble getting past 2500MHZ with 1.8Vcore which when I first got it I did'nt seem to have a problem. Weird huh.

Anyway well see if this puppy gets those 2.7-2.9Ghz I've been seeing on water.🙂

So what's a safe Vcore and does anyone have a clue as to degredation of OC on the 2400? Currently even my sig is wrong. I'm running 2380 @ 1.7Vcore in bios.

I've got a mobile 2600 on nf7--s v2 with a tr-sp97 heatpipe heatsink and a quiet 80mm fan. HItting 200x12.5 right now w/ 1.775 vcore and 2.9 v-dram and 70 ambient/90 system/100 cpu.

Maybe I'll try a little higher later. This is the highest I've tried so far.

I don't believe degradation can happen that way, but what do I know?🙁

My first guess is your cooling went astray. How're your temps?

Maybe something else changed in your hw setup, your bios, your os, your drivers? I couldn't hit 12.5 w/o raising the dram voltage - maybe your's got reset lower somehow?
Good luck.

My temps never get above 40C even when I was OCing 2600 Mhz +

The main problem was my antec PS caught fire and blew a cap. Ever since then, what was one my great 2400 moblie gets prime errors even at once trivial overclock which you see in my sig. I think either the board or processor is fluxed. I ordered all new gear just to be sure.

Translation... don't buy any used parts from Zebo in the FS/FT forums 😉

Hehe

Well the 2600 seems to be around 200 mhz better than the 2400 in all overclocks and voltage requirements. Is it worth it? I don't think so. 25% more money for 10% more performance the 2400 moblie still wins the price performance crown however IT will not get to the super high Mhz.
