Before the digital cable and satellite providers picked up the HD channels, your only option for HDTV was to pick it up OTA. You still need a HDTV decoder though. 🙂

Before the digital cable and satellite providers picked up the HD channels, your only option for HDTV was to pick it up OTA. You still need a HDTV decoder though. 🙂
Actually, you are incorrect. You can use just about any antenna to receive HD signals, since they are OTA.
Companies have started selling their OTA antennas as "HD" but the truth they don't do anything more than a regular old pair of rabbit ears could do. Nicer antennas pick up weaker signals better, but the "HD" part is bull. Like you said, the decoder is still necessary.
