Ever have one of those nights where it seems like nothing can go right for you?

Was walking up the stairs with a fifth of Grey Goose, and somehow managed to drop and smash the bottle! :(

*sigh*

If it was unopened (still sealed) take the unopened top of the broken bottle to the liquor store. They should replace it for you, and their supplier will replace it for them...

Sheet, I had this happen with a bottle of tequila, I'm going to have to try this if it ever happens again.

Its grey goose, dont cry too much. GG is overrated, in fact ive seen many a blind taste test where people who said it was their favorite ended up saying it was horrible when they didnt know what it was

Yeah I am not a huge fan of GG. It's okay, but not on my top list of vodka's.

R.I.P. your bottle though OP

It is a sad occurrence when you see a poor alcoholic scrape money for a few days to buy his precious bottle of alcohol, and he drops and smashes it! Grown man crying on the ground. It is so heart breaking that a friend of mine _NEVER_ buys alcohol in glass bottles anymore. Plastic all the way.

That sucks, man. At least you didn't waste it making "Skittles Vodka" like I almost did. :)

Wow, really?

I doubt it... so many ways to abuse this.

Actually, the same exact thing happened to me at the Fred Meyer in Juneau, AK. We were in the parking lot and the bottle of Grey Goose slipped out of my hand and smashed on the ground.

I went back in the store and explained what happened to the customer service desk and they replaced the bottle without question. :Q I know, I was as surprised as you are reading this.

I'm sure this is a HUGE YMMV and you would be at the mercy of the store.

You can doubt it if you want, but it's true. Do you know how many liquor bottles get broken in transit to the store or while stocking shelves? It is not a loss the stores can afford; any unopened/sealed bottle tops they return to the supplier they get credited for. (Much like stores that sell newspapers return only the FRONT page for credit on unsold papers)

Trust me, this isn't an "opinion" or a YMMV. It is a fact. A family member owns a few liquor stores and so do some friends of mine (in a different state).

Can't really take advantage of this unless you like drinking shards of glass. If you figured out a way to make it work for you, it might work once or twice but they won't keep doing it for you every day. Oh, and it also requires you to actually PURCHASE the first bottle.

Some people like to drink alcohol that is actually distilled and doesn't create a next mroning hangover from impurities. You dont get that in plastic :)
