In the scene when Bud shoots Beatrix with the rock salt and starts walking up to her, he kicks her sword thats on the ground and if you watch in the background it actually sticks in an old rusty barrel.
They probably put that in on purpose but it does look like a total fluke.
Did anyone else notice it first time seeing it? I didnt.

I'm still trying to figure out how Beatrix survived that shotgun bullet right to her (it was either her chest or stomach)

and returned to fight the other assassin with a sword.

As was stated in the OP, it was rock salt, not shot.

It was rocksalt pellets-not steel shotgun pellets

Consider rock salt as just a "warning" shot. Actual "shot" is meant to do serious damage.

Understood. However, you have to admit that the rock salt did cause some damage to Beatrix, she was bleeding and all. She either heals very quickly or can tolerate pain a lot better then anyone else.

That's basically the only part in the movie I considered BS within the parameters of the movie.

what's the difference between the two?

density, size. not much penetration power. the blast probably turned the salt into powder further lessening its penetration power. point is being salted all over ... probably hurts like a b*tch:) shotgun shells are not bullets, they are just big cases full of pellets.. a spray. also depends on the guage of the shell, and how much powder u bother putting in. if u don't want to kill, u can simply put less powder in.
