Quick thoughts: get rid of static bg image, change text color to off white, reduce banner image size by about half the width, otherwise it looks decent

Colors don't work for me, something makes it feel too cluttered. I like the layout but the colors just kill it for me also I dont like the title font

1. site has consistent elements except for the title which stands out like a sore thumb. The placement, font, and color need to be reviewed.

2. while the green shade used for the individual body-component headers is okay, the large body navigation bar's darker shade feels out of place. same goes for the footer checkerboard thing at the bottom. If you want gradients to work, be a little more gradual -otherwise remove the additional color.

3. I agree with Crono's background recommendations. Perhaps you can pull off a non-white background but make sure the colors work together.
