So last night the A/C compressor fan motor burned up... Today and tomorrow are supposed to hit 99. At least it's down from what they were predicting 24 hours ago for today and Wednesday... 101!

edit

None of us got any sleep... finally got fed up and decided to go to a hotel then realized it was after 3am... so no point in that since I'd have 2 hours to sleep!

After mounting 2 window units - 1 permanently upstairs in the office (computer seems to heat that room up so it could use the extra cooling), 1 downstairs temporarily and a portable unit downstairs will let them be comfortable enough today. As for me, I'm at work. Someone has to pay the repair bill and the $700 worth of AC units I bought this morning - plus there's AC here.

Open your freezer door?

Thought about it - see edit in OP

2 cold showers. 1 when I first woke up in hopes of getting rid of the headache, and the 2nd after mounting the new AC units so I could go to work and others could stand to be around me.

doesnt opening up the freezer door just make the room warmer? the unit has to work harder to try to maintain that low of a temp...

please correct me if im wrong.

I can sympathize... compressor died in my apartment. It certainly is uncomfortable when your room is 95 degrees fahrenheit :(
