This morning at 9:30 I walk into the chemistry lecture hall for my Organic lecture to find out that power is out campus-wide. Of course the lecture hall contains emergency lighting so the professor decides to lecture on in the dim lighting with no overheads (all lectures are overheads). After an hour the power still had no come back on, so I head over to my Sociology class hoping the power stays out so our exam is delayed and I can go home. Sure enough two minutes before the exam starts the power comes back on.

I feel the same way.

I had two classes @ 7:30 and 8:30. I did not want to go to either of them because I'm tired as hell. As soon as I'm walking out of Lily after my 8:30 class (I kid you not I was in the damn stairwell leaving) the power goes out. BAM! Nobody has classes for that period. :| Why the hell did my classes have to be so damn early?

who still uses overheads is my question?

almost all the lectures in our halls are done with projectors, either overheads or ceiling mounted projectors that are connected to computers in the front of the class.

maybe my school was uber hi-tech then... everything was digital lcd projectors and powerpoint.
All lecture halls here have that, but not all professors choose to use them. Powerpoint would be pointless in attempting to teach reaction mechanisms.
