Well, I was away for a couple days (I know you all missed me) and I got my computer set up earlier today.

Now that my home theater is out of a dank basement I thought I'd show it off again :p

The wall above the fireplace is almost perfectly 16:9 (excluding the power outlet right above the mantel) so I'm using that for now... might even skip the screen all together because the wall looks great already compared to the last wall it was on.

Also, a DIY projector mount is in the works, so the ugly white projector stand will eventually be a thing of the past :)

Well, here's the pics

UPDATE: Pics to demonstrate how the wall is a very nice size for me

(camera was not moved, one is without flash, one is with flash)

How's da jello?
Wall

lol, and here witness my amazing paint skills: composite

yeah for half ass setup! :)

Gotta love not being in a permanent place, I understand how that is :(. I prefer bookshelfs in the back so they can be mounted higher for more depth...IMO

I love how you covered your fireplace with a center speaker. LOL. Who needs a fire when you got a HT setup.

Dude, I'm an hour and a half away. I used to go to Madison every weekend. We should party sometime.

Very nice!!!! You are a brother in arms, I see.

By that I mean that you have waaaaay to much HT for a tiny little room. Much like myself. :D

You have obviously gone thru great pains AND expense to recreate the Theater Experience in the privacy of your own domicle. <--for you!!!!

Your neighbors will love you, I'm sure. I stand ready to be by your side when you post about the cops kicking your door in b/c you couldn't hear them knocking, then banging on the door b/c you were engrossed in a fine cinema feature.

More power to ya!

Yeah, I have to get a little stand action going on for both the fronts and rears actually. I haven't gotten around to it yet. (no $$ left)

I don't even know if the fireplace works in here ;)
We can move the center out of the way if we need to though ;)

Madison is the number 1 party school.

Well, I don't drink... so I like to stay inside and avoid the chaos.

So you rent an apartment there? Is theft a concern?

My Dad's an insurance agent, so I'm pretty well covered if anything does happen.

oooh, stamp.

We watched Jurassic Park tonight actually without complaints. There was a huge party of grad students last night that poured onto the street with like hundreds of people and a cop came by and shined his light on them and moved on. I'm not too worried about the bother we're creating ;)

What's so ghetto about his setup? He's got a 5.1 PROJECTOR setup, and he actually has the speakers positioned correctly...or good as possible for a small room.

I think he did very well.

Let's see your setup...or should I say Mom&Dad's TV, since you probably live at home, right?
