been working out for the last couple months so i could get in shape, so i figured today would be a good day to put those workouts to the test

went up to the huge 100 pound tv ive had sitting in my living room for 10 years, charged up my strength and carried that sucker all the way up a flight of stairs into my bedroom

things got a little touch and go about half way up but i dug deep and made it. didnt even have to use a back brace or a spotter! :colbert:

Be careful with that. I moved a large CRT TV (32" or 36") by myself last year and ended up causing a retinal tear in my eye from the strain. Took a couple days after to show up, but had a hole in my vision for weeks. Scared the crud out of me and I went in ASAP for all kinds of tests...they basically said, don't lift really heavy stuff by yourself anymore :whiste:

No idea, never happened to me before. Had to see a retina specialist...place was filled with 90+ year olds looking at me funny (due to being young). They said they see it all the time, especially after people having moving days - apparently it can put a strain on your body & blood pressure and cause a vessel in your eye to burst, basically. End result is you get a nice hole in your vision until it heals. Never even heard of something like that

That's another thing I learned...apparently staying up late makes your blood pressure go high, because your body has to work harder to stay awake. I had been low on sleep for over a year (new baby & all), so apparently that jacked up my blood pressure, combined with lifting heavy things by myself, equals eye explosion. Awesome :p
