Just me? I'm more excited about the 1070 release...

186W power usage. NV marketing 150W TDP is strong. Overclocking is < 2.1Ghz, just like every other 1070/1080 card. Looks like the earlier claims of 2.3-2.5Ghz overclocks were BS. Comparing Max overclocked 1070 to 980Ti OC scores in FireStrike shows 980Ti OC to be a faster card. 670 beat 580 by 20% stock. Now that the dust is settling and hype is waning, this is shaping up to be a pretty mediocre node shrink, much much worse than Fermi -> Maxwell was.

Having said that, if AIBs have $380-400 1070 cards, it will be a great card overall for 1080p 144Hz or 1440p 60Hz gaming because 980Ti OC is as well.

Yup it's so cheap i'm considering buying one to put in my unraid 6 server to run a win10 vm/htpc from it. Just got a new tv so this new 1070 will be just the ticket to enjoying my steam library from my couch.

Will at least be some 1070's at launch you imagine, how long the stock lasts is another matter. They've had a month of 1080 output to scavenge slightly failed parts, so if lots of them aren't making the cut then I guess there could quite a few 1070's.
(But the 1080 production might a little slow due to the DDR5X, or just getting wafers at TSMC or goodness knows.).

That MSI card isn't just overclocked, but even - for some daft reason - has ***** configurable LED lighting. Doesn't suggest a power sensitive design team 🙂
(It does seem quiet though.).

Even if they could, I really wouldn't want to see the power consumption of this thing pushed up to 2.4/2.5. Just silly - if you want that sort of performance wait for the bigger cards!

It is released June 10th. I don't think computer hardware has gone the pre-order route that games have quite yet.

I plan to pick one up too, just not the FE. I will keep my eyes peeled for AIB offerings from Asus, EVGA, and MSI.

It basically has around launch time (for the 1080 at least!) but they do at least wait for the official launch to take preorders 🙂

Yeah, I won't pay extra for the initial release version. I can wait a couple months if I have to. It's not drastic that I get my card immediately. Already have a evga 980ti in my main PC.

lol I almost got one. It was showing in stock. I had it in my cart, but I decided to change the shipping speed. When I clicked the edit button to do that it showed out of stock. I'm such a noob at this kind of stuff. I should have pulled the trigger the second I saw I had snagged one.

Edit: got one. They came back in stock around 5:00 cst.

RS, why are you even posting here? Please go back to the AMD forum.

My goodness the TechPowerup review shows the GTX 1070 to perform incredibly well in games. I was focusing on the 2560 x1440 resolution and it really rocks. Here's the link to the review.
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_1070/

I got my EK GTX 1080 fullblock today and was able to snag a GTX 1080 FE from Newegg this evening.

When I have it all put together, I'm putting the GTX 1080 in my 5960x rig with my Dell U3415W ultrawide 3440 x1440 monitor and I'm moving my GTX 980 TI SC with EK full block over to my 4790k machine to replace the 2 R9 290s.

I'm done with CF/SLI.

The reviews.... my gawd... the 1070 is downright amazing! Less power usage than a 970, yet 50-80% faster in most of those reviews! Fallout4 was the least impressive of all, strangely...

I'm shocked... it's really quite the leap!

Got my tracking number for the 1070 FE. Should be here tomorrow. I was worried that maybe it was a website glitch when it showed in stock at the time I ordered. I haven't seen it back in stock since then. Pretty excited.

I'm gonna wait for the "new-ness" to wear off before I make the jump. Prices are still too high for my liking, always this way with new video cards. My EVGA GTX 980 ACX 2.0 SC will find it's way to eBay right there after I can snatch one up, plus I really want to see what the AIB's cook up.

I went ahead and preordered ASUS Strix 1070 card on amazon, I haven't really been using my gaming rig lately so I've already got my 290x on ebay.
