just made a new song

I am the best damn salesman in the world!
You're not doing a very good job! 🙂

Song is pretty good, but the synthesized electric guitar in the middle is sorta fake sounding.

I liked it up until the last minute...then it begins to seem like your hesitating between notes, not really sure what you're trying to get to emerge. Other than that, I think it's an excellent piece.

thanks..... I'll compress it. I'm really paranoid about the final mix, because as I increase the volume, I increase the chance of it peaking in someone's stereo. I've got some pretty good equipment (audigy card, line 6 amp, carvin guitar) so it can come out squeeky clean in my monitors, but when I play it in real life stereo's and cars, it seems to peak out. So I always mix it kind of low to make sure. I guess once I am happy with the content, I will take the time to do the final compressed mix better. But as of now, I'm making a new version every 30 minutes, so I can spend to much time on the mix down because it will be scrapped anyway....

Please tell me you are talking about the melody that starts at 3:41..... because I don't care for it too much either. The ending, how it fades out after that melody I kinda like.

Yup, that's it. I like how it fades out, but the melody before just doesn't seem right.

First, I want to add some stuff to the first minute of the song. Its got kind of a long, improv clean style guitar solo, and I want to add some chordal highlights and sub harmonies.

The melody at 3:41 will be tossed. Something along the same lines, but starting a little sooner, around 3:30. I need a better melody for it. haven't thought it up yet....

I also want to add some light snare rolls to some parts, along with spicing up the symbol work. Toms are absent from the mix. I'd like to do some light tabla in certain parts.

Finally, the bass line is the same thing over and over if you didn't notice. I will spice that up too....

Yes, the melody, it has hesitation and lag to it. It was improved though just to see how something would sound there. I left it there because without it, it sounds even duller......

i used drum samples from natural studios (.com) in Fruity Loops. Once I had the drum track done, with bass, I mixed it down to a wave file then imported it to Magix Audio Studio 6. Then I recorded all of the guitar lines, etc.
