Just lost my Nexus in China. Remotely track it?

It's night here and I took this crazy bumpy bike/taxi ride and after getting back to the hostel realized that it's now gone.

It has everything on there.

Is there something baked into the Android OS that will allow me to track it like the iPhones do? Or allow me to remotely install something onto it through my email or something?

There are lot's of programs. But AFAIK all of them need to be installed before hand.

Definitely Plan B. But I'd never have left the country without installing Cerberus on my device.

And what's going to happen if you find out where it is? I predict very little chance of getting it back, unless you just wanted to wipe it.

Well, plan B doesn't work. I told it to install on the device but no response. It was supposed to send an email to me but nothing. I texted it with 'locate' and still nothing. Possibly because it uses Google Voice for texting and only has a data-only SIM card with no calling capabilities.

Well, this was an expensive day...

Two possible reasons:
1.) I believe that Plan B is completely useless if you have Google Voice set as your "default" messaging client. I don't know about anyone else, but I know I do. Google has my number now. It is both my default for all outgoing/incoming calls and messages.

2.) Did you have LBE Privacy Guard installed?
The time I left my phone at work, I installed Plan B to track it...It didn't find or even message me anything anything.
When I saw the phone at my work the next day and did some test runs, I discovered that Plan B was requesting permissions. And of course with LBE Privacy Guard, the thing shows the box about an app requesting permissions for 15-20 seconds. If nothing is selected(you won't be able to select anything since the phone is not in front of you), it automatically denies the permission request.

3) the person that found it took the battery and sim card out the moment they found it.

Cerebrus stays installed on the phone regardless of if a person did either of those things or not.
The only way to get rid of it is by flashing another ROM through ODIN(based on my experience with the Galaxy S II), or whatever have you.
Even resetting/restoring to factory defaults won't get rid of Cerebrus.

SIM Checker feature allows you to know the new number to send texts to, if the SIM card is changed.

Yeah, but we're talking about why this case failed. I already explained that Cerberus should have been the answer beforehand. ;)

If the sim is out then there's plenty of time for them to flash a new ROM, and as it's in China and would need a Chinese ROM to sell it probably didn't take them long to do that.
