I got into work this morning and was about to flush my dedicated SETI boxes. I went to the first and sent the 16 completed WU, went to the second (Celeron B @ 1.0) and it had 8 completed, clicked transmit and walked away to the next one. Got a call about 10 minutes later saying that there was a sound like a swarm of locusts coming from the server room. I naturally dropped what I was doing and high-tailed it. The Celeron machine was screaming in agony. It sounds like the hard drive completely crashed. The machine was blue-screened with a "Cannot Read from Drive C" error. I tried a re-boot but as soon as I turned it back on there was this horrific wail coming from the hard drive. I should be able to RMA the drive, but I don't know if the completed WU made it out or not. The machine was a back up for our label printing PC and it's only purpose at the time was crunching for the TeAm.
I should have an Athlon XP 1800+ on an A7N266 up and running later this week though. I'll need some OC advice once I get the stuff.
UPDATE: Seems it was just the hard drive that died. There are four missing completed WU buried in there
Anyway, drive is under warranty, RMA created and on it's way. Should be up and running as soon as Maxtor sends me the replacement!
