I just lapped my sk-6. I couldn't find any sandpaper higher than 600 grits so I just used 600 grits. I lapped it first with 400, and then 600. I got kinda worried cuz the bottom looked really scratchy and stuff but I decided to try it anyway and now my temp is 4 degrees lower than before! This is great! muaha

EDIT: BTW, im' running a 1.4@1.58 1.85v... TEMP before was 43. Temp now is 39. ^^ My HD is 43 o_O

Was bottom flat when you lapped it ? Or concave like aluminum heatsinks usually are ? I have sk6 and bottom is polished on mine, came that way.

My sk6 wasn't well polished, and had a few nicks in the bottom. Does anyone sell the sk6 with a well polished finish? Where did you pick up your sandpaper?

the sandpaper with the grits of 600 and over are usually at auto shops, like kragen and autozone. sandpaper that high of a grit is used for automobile purposes and metal polishing. =) i lapped my coolermaster copper hs/f and my blueorb on my chipset. the wonders of lapping =)
