Just joined the unemployed queue

Well it finally happened. I was given my notice this morning that I am officially laid off. The contract I was working on ended abruptly February 20 so I have been frantically searching for another job inside the company but no such luck. Anyone need a MS systems admin type in Northern Virginia? I know someone looking for a job now.😉

Worry not. You may be unemployeed, but GDP is up! economic projections are up! The country will be fine!

Seriously though, good luck. I was in that situation a couple of years ago and it sucked. Hopefully the DC area won't be too hard to find work in.

Don't worry you will be in good company this coming fall.

Heh I will be working by then even if it is wearing a headset and asking "Would you like fries with that Sir?".

Sorry to hear. Thought things were getting better out there.
You have PM

Nope. A job is not always a job. MOST new jobs pay less then 50K a year and a lot even less then 30K. So even if someone does find a new job it will probable be less then what they use to make or will have to move to find it.

I am still looking for a job in the Raleigh / RTP area.

But good luck on teh job hunt, and welcome to the club 🙂

Good luck in your future job search. Were you a full-time employee or a contractor?

Full time employee. I have been with the company for 6 years this month and this was my 2nd contract. When the first one ended I spent about a month on the bench before the last one came along.
