Welcome to Team Anandtech!

I'm sure that someone who knows SETI will be along soon to answer your question. In the meanwhile you can check out this thread.

That depends greatly on your motherboard and ram timings. What chipset is your mobo?

welcome Zipperhead!!!

if your ram is at cas 2-2-2, it should take between 3-4 hours to finish a wu. you will occasionally get packets that take 6-7 hours to process.

on average, you should be cranking out 7-8 packets a day.

oh yeah. make sure to use the newer clients, not v2.04. v2.70 is the fastest.

Get them here.

Welcome to the team :D ,fast machine you have! :)

Expect around 4hrs/WU on v2.04 (BTW make sure you have you 'blank screen' setting enabled within the screen saver settings & set to less than 5 mins ,if you use it as a screen saver that is)

BTW v2.7 is a beta & is not suppossed to be for general release ,it is meant for the selected beta testers only.
Having said that many people have run it without any comeback yet.Though Office Boy did say that he had been contacted (OB?) & they weren't too pleased about him rerleasing them on his site.

I'd run 2.70 if you can. I found anything later than 2.70 to be too slow and the times vaired too much. I tried the others and put 2.70 back on everything that was a P3 or faster. I put the command line client on the others.

You might want to try out a WU queuing program so your computer isn't sitting there wasting time if you can't get connected to the servers.

Oh, and welcome! :D

Having hit almost every site in the world related to S@H, I've seen 2.70
as the client of choice on most every team.

It offers all the data crunching + of any older client, and is a legit S@H client.

The only downside to the S@H project might be the added server load due to the
client being faster per WU.

I went from 12 WU's per day to 16 with 3 PIII 806/124's.
