Well i just got everything installed, dont see any difference, dont notice any difference, so what is better about running this thing? Can i install half life 2 and other 32 bit applications?? Will they run any faster? What exactly should i be using this system for? Im surprised no one has mad a post like this...

What can we expect to see/do with the 64 bit version?

I leave it up to you all to research and post what you find here...!!

I'm surprised you installed it first, and asked these questions afterwards... :p

Yeah, you wasted your money mate. There's no reason to buy a 64bit OS unless you have applications that take advantage of it...which you obviously don't.

Waste of money? It's currently out for testing. You can download it for free of the Microsoft web site. mmmk

so what is better about running this thing?

You get to use all of the registers on your AMD64 and 64-bit process have access to >4G VM in a linear address space. That's about it. The overall system should feel a little bit faster, but nothing outrageous.

Seeing as how there's virtually no 64-bit Windows apps available yet you've pretty much done everything new you can do, now to start installing 32-bit apps and hope the WoW compatibility layer works well.
