just installed Win7 and can't see Raid drives

I can see them when I got to Device Manager - it says "Nvidia Mirror 465.76" but it does not show in Disk management. Also in device manager I see that Nvidia raid drivers are installed. I went to EVGA's site and the latest drivers they have for raid is Vista64 which I was able to install without Win7 giving me any warnings - still no drives.

Any ideas?

Do your RAID drivers load at POST before Windowes? Have you checked Admin Tools, ..., Disk Management? It may be a drive letter problem.

BIOS drivers load, yes. The array is shown as "healthy". I do not see the disk in disk management, but I do see the array in device manager (Nvidia Mirror 465.76). I also see nForce Raid drivers in device manager which is weird. Everything is in place, but no drive. This was a healthy raid drive in my XP computer (data drive).

I just took a closer look and the drive in Disk Management actually says "Disc 1 , Dynamic Foreign". So, the disk manager does see it. how do I get it to be recognized without losing all the data? If I right click it, it says "Import foreign disks" or "convert to basic disk"

Sounds like the old DYnamic Disk problem. If you can back it up - do so. Dynamic Disks are a real PITA for most folks.

ok, for anyone following this thread or reading it later, Win 7 was able to import the foreign disks without data loss - just took a sec. all is well in whoville

does anyone know if it's safe to import them or should I back them up first
Well, as you found, importing a dynamic disk array shouldn't lose data. Of course, ANY disk operation like that would best be done after making backups of anything important.

Dynamic disks each carry information about all other dynamic disks in the system, including information about arrays. If the disk pair was created in another system, the new Windows system needs to import that disk and array information. Then, it'll change the information on the disks to match the new dynamic disk setup on the new system.
