I just installed Vista 5472 on Virtual PC 2004, using all default settings except for RAM which I changed to 512, because my system has 1GB. My Host OS is Windows XP home SP2, it is not supported with Virtual PC 2004. I logged in and now it stays at This Screen "Setting up personalized settings for: Windows Desktop Update. It has been on this screen for a good 40 minutes. Has anyone else had this problem?

i grabbed the latest beta vpc last night from MS and left all settings on default . that worked fine for me. installed a few progs on it to test the thing before installing it for real.

so far found my encoding progs work fine, as well as O&O defrag, acronis true image, but nod32 doesnt :(

liking vista so far.

You need the additions from VPC 2007 to run Vista. You need VPC 2007 to run VPC on Vista.

That vista build is over 600 versions old.

Not sure about VPC, but Virtual Server 2005 R2 should work.
