Just installed Thermaltake Beetle *ducks for TT haters*

I might catch flack for this, but I just installed a TT Beetle heatsink in one of my pc's. This thing absolutly rocks, it's HUGE, but had no issue mounting it. It also works with every newer socket out there. I've been running it for 2 days now, I can't hear it, and my CPU temp has dropped 8c over my old fan (CoolerMaster X-Dream) I know a lot of people on here try to steer everyone away from TT products. But if anyone is in the market for a really kick ass cooler, this might be the best bet. Price aside, because I paid $65. I don't think anything can touch it. Apperance is a personal preference, but to me this thing looks crazy, it's possibly the largest cooler I've seen. I guess that's what TT does with the flashy products, but I love the looks of it.

I'm not a TT fan boy, infact this is the first TT product I've owned.

65$?? I sure hope those are Canadian dollars. 65 US$ gets you the best Thermalright heatsink and a quiet fan, and a fan controller.

haha yeah, you can get a xp-120 and have plenty of money left over.

Oh for Christs...

Are you TRYING to snap your motherboard in half? And I bet the temps are higher than a good Zalman or Thermalright cooler too.

Sheesh...that sink has to be some kind of prank...the guys at Tt are laughing right now about how someone bought one.

First of all not that i like the beetle but every day i hear about a xp90,xp120
i mean c'mon guys there are other things out there that do their job just right......

true, but there's really no reason to get anything else when an xp-90 is $30 + s&h and it'll out perform anything you throw at it with a decent fan (cept the xp-120 and xp-90c, but difference is negligable)...

oh and the beetle isn't as heavy as the xp-90c.. as long as its secured properly, damage to the motherboard or anything else is pretty much a non-issue.. it could only become an issue in a computer that goes to lots of lan parties or gets moved around a lot for whatever reason.

Neither of those work on Socket A Motherboards, and the one that does (SI-97) isn't compatiable with my MB.

yea.. if it's lighter than xp-90.. aint too bad..

Sure it is lighter, but due to it's height and the position of weight it still has huge moments on the board.

What motherboard do you have that doesnt have 6lug socket?

I looked at the beetle, but decided it was a little large, since my PC gets moved around alot. But if you got a pc which stays put, it looks pretty cool, and seems to do the job. So what if it's Tt...

TT fanboy here:

The beetle looks REALLY cool if you ahve a window in your case. I'v eseen it and it looks great. If it had been out when i built my newcomputer, I would hav egotten it instead of my TT VEus 12.

Gigabyte something or other NF2 Ultra 400. This is possibly the most incompatiable MB I have ever seen. Doesn't work with the Thermalright HS's, not with the Zalmans, pretty much a crap board 🙂 and to be honest I can't find any info as to why the SI-97 won't work with it, other then "it won't work"
